on the way home the other day the tranny in my 95 Dakota stopped working. When I rev'd the engine nothing happened until I reached 3500+ rpm, and then she would only creap forward. The tranny was low so I added some ATF and she started working again, but not as well as before. I got about 70 miles further down the road and she started doing the samething again. This time I parked it and called a friend. The ATF was old but not burnt. The only trouble I have had from the tranny is needing the bands tightened. There is now a large puddle under the tranny. The truck has 247k miles and all maintenance has been done regularly. Am I looking at a complete rebuild on the tranny? If so, how much is it going to set me back?

mine is in the shop i have a 93 same problem and it is only setting me bak around 900 but i have a friend doing it for me
when i first started asking around evrey one was say 1600 to rebuild and 900 for a junk yard my friend is rebuilding mine with all new parts and a shift kit
