Default can't find power under the dash

I just picked up a new CB radio because I travel a lot and it's the best way I've found to be the best way to keep informed of what's going on up ahead. Thank you to all those professional haulers out there.

I've crawled under the dash of my 05 Dak and can't seem to figure out where to tap in for juice. Normally I would just put a "fuse tap" in one of the open space on the fuse block, or splice off the cigarette lighter. Well, I can't find a fuse panel under the dash(I know the main one is under the hood), and all of the wiring under there is BLUE.

With all of the stereo installs done, I imagine someone has already found a quick solution to my problem. Could you share it with me?

Thanks.

Default RE: can't find power under the dash

i still havent seen one person do a true stereo install on an 05 dak...just replace the headunit for the MP3 model...because of this very tricky problem of finding the power.
If you can't run it from the lighter then I'd say get a voltmeter and start probing fuses while truck is on/off and figure out what is supplying 12V. Its either that or just run a line directly from the battery with an inline fuse

Just make sure you don't use a test light. A test light can set off your airbag, where a voltmeter will not.

Did you get the tow package? If so there should be the blue four pin connector uner the dash for a brake controller hookup near the steering column. You should be able to pull power off that.

YOU WANT POWER HERES YOUR POWER!!! ------------->>>remove the kick panel underneath the glove box inside the door on the passanger side. there you will find the amp for the stock speakers....use your volt meter to find constant power and switched. bingo there you go. i expect your first son to be named anthony.

I ran wire through the firewall to the fusebox for my CD changer, piece of cake.

I just tapped into the power outlet to hook up the xm, right under the dash in the center.
