View Full Version : RAM 1500 turning radius
Homee2010 04-11-2004, 12:35 AM One thing I hate about my truck is the (lack of) turning radius. My wife's Durango has a much smaller radius. I know, it's a smaller vehicle. But, I'd love to tighten the circle if i could...
Any thoughts???

dustyloins 04-11-2004, 12:41 AM No, but don't feel like the Lone Ranger. The Titanic had a tighter turning radius than my SRT-4 does!!!![:@]
Ruslt 04-11-2004, 12:45 AM For some reason Dodge must not believe in turning radius. My friend has a Neon and a Intrepid and niether of them turn worth a flip. My 04 QC 1500 turns alright for its size. I have never seen a dodge that turns well.
I am very happing with the turning radius in my dodge ram. It turns much better than my camaro!
356MAGNUM 04-11-2004, 02:46 PM Last winter the Ram 1500 had a terrific turning radius. Did a truck's width turn at the red light on a patch of ice. After I opened my eyes I saw the cemetery straight ahead. I'm always thinking of ways to save money. Just plow into the cemetery and cut of the middle man.
rambob 04-11-2004, 05:55 PM I can't believe you guy's are bitching about the turning radius of this truck. I just traded a 95 z28 for a 04 ram regular cab, and the truck has a tighter turning radius than the Camaro did.
I had a 99 SLT Laramie that had a tight radius also. This is the best handling standard production full size pickup on the market right now.
Ratchet 04-11-2004, 06:54 PM I agree with rambob. Go and test drive a Chevy extended cab... you'll be really happy with your Dodge afterwards. Although I can't speak for the newer trucks, my '01 turns MUCH better than my Chevy did.
mikebol 04-11-2004, 09:39 PM I traded in an 01 F150 extended cab for my 04 Ram QC... Oh my, this truck is so much better than the F150. That truck took an acre to park and I always had to pull in, back up, pull in. I hated to park that thing.
The Ram is sooo much better.
Vader 04-11-2004, 10:56 PM Don't bother turnin, just drive over the obstacles in your path:D
Homee2010 04-12-2004, 04:45 AM Vader, I LIKE the way you think!!!
I guess after driving the mini-truck and the Durango, I ain't used to the big one, yet...
BleedDodge 04-12-2004, 05:23 AM The worst turning radius I've seen is on any GM truck. You need 4 lanes to do a U-turn on one of those things, it seems like.

I heard that!. I went from a 83 Camaro to a 04 Ram. Couldn't be happier
Went from an F250 4wd Super Crew Cab to my Dodge and couldn't be happier. The different in turning radius is amazing.. Can actually make u-turns now..=-)
Redhairedcwgirl 04-28-2004, 01:05 AM I'm MUCH happier with the turning radius in my Q/C Ram! I felt like I had to have an acre to turn around when I owned a late '90s Z71! I can park this truck anywhere and very rarely do I have to straighten up my parking!
I can't believe you guys were complaining!!!!
