**Note: Thinking Big Block? Mopar Performance makes a rear wheel drive conversion kit (Part #P4529533) and 4.5" bolt circle steering knuckle kit (Part #P4529329). Good Luck!

where and how do I get this

and what size for big block 440 six pack is too big huh?

Good luck finding the Mopar Performance RWD conversion kit, it's been discontinued for several years now. You will need to find a dealership, shop or an individual that has one still, there are many people looking for them as well thus reducing your chances. I love the big block idea, I had the same plans for my '88 Daytona Shelby Z before I sold it, but realistically you would be far better off using the Mopar Performance 380 horsepower 360 crate engine, it will weigh less, fit better and be easier to work on and with.

Yep, that or a shop that can build you what you need to put one in and convert it to RWD.

how much does it run to get it switched to rwd
I also have the efi and I want to turn it to the old style 4barrel carb could it be done and how if you know
also and lastly how Would I convert it to a 5 speed manual or is that possible.

My fiancee loves speed as for me I like muscle I have a 72 hornet and a 76spiritgt I am in the process of getting. Ne way she loves to work on cars and want to keep the daytonaand just change it all herself...me, I have had three all 2.5 but now I am looking into a cheap 2.2turbo I heard they are easier to modify. Where would she be able to get ahold of some books to start learning...

I have no idea how much it would cost to convert it to RWD, you will need to take it to a shop and see what they say.

I have never see a 4bbl on a 4 cylinder from the factory, just 1 and 2bbl's. You would have to build the 4 cylinder up quite a bit to use a 4bbl on it, besides the fuel injection is better for throttle response. Changing from an automatic to a manual isn't too bad, but you will need the transmission, pedal assembly, clutch cable and brackets, shifter cables and brackets, console and PCM from the same year and motor car that is a manual.

The 2.2L Turbo I & II are very easy and fairly cheap to get power from. Mopar Performance has many books on all of this and more.

you can do your own RWD kit...the mopar one would have been MUCH easier however I have seen people fab it and get a shop to fab it and that will work.. also yes a 360 will fit much better I had a teacher back in highschool with a conquest and he could barely get the 383 Mopar Motor in there... I would dump the 440 idea and go with the 340 or 360*

Or sell the 'tona and get a Conquest, already RWD and almost same car.

Finding a conquest is just as hard as finding the RWD kit...

just had a couple of question that i have been thinking about and maybe some one has some answer for them. more for my own knowledge then anything else

to convert to a rwd you wouldn't you need to do something with the gas tank or is it high enough for the axle to clear?

also how well does the fire wall except the engine and tranny?( it looks like it might need to be trim or modified to fit)

one last question can you place the engine low enough to clear the stock hood?
