Default CAIs for the 4.7

Has anybody else had any luck finding a CAI for the 05's?

Just so happens you are in luck. Weapon-R has made an intake for this truck.

The fine people at weapon-R (who does have a truck product line, its not only for imports) have done it again. I bring to you the Weapon-R air intake kit for the 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8.

If you are interested in buying one of these units, contact me. $295.00 shipped anywhere in the USA.

The shield box for the unit is being constructed and should be available within a month. Any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

Shield will be shipped to anyone who buys as soon as it is done, the price does include the shield and shipping for it when it is done.

I like the way it looks, though, why doesn't it go all the way to the hole? Can you extend the tubing to go throught the hole and have the filter in the wheel well? How many ponies were able to pull during the dyno? Do you have any more info? Thanks.

They are working on a RAM air kit for it so it will hose through the hole and down to the front grill pulling cold air in directly, this of course is an easy mod that yes you could do yourself. I should have th dyno charts soon for you, there was about a 10.2 increase according to the dyno tester.

As for extending the tube and putting the filter in the wheel well I will bring this idea up but I do not really see it being a go as it would be a pain to get the filter up there and fastened in, the ram air kit for it may be the best bet. The setup as is ... is very nice, I can feel the difference for sure in the truck and it sounds nice as hell. Once this shield is complete this will do even better, we will re hit the dyno with the shield and once more with the ram air kit once its done but as this unit stands right now, I would say its a great purchase at this price considering it is the only one out for the 05 right now.

How much will the Ram Air cost? I would like to know real soon. I'm trying to budget how much I'll spend before I go out and buy something. Are you guys going to come out with an exhaust system? IF you do, could you make it a dual split side exhaust with the tips coming out behind the rear wheels? What about headers too? Let me know what you're willing to do.

Thanks.

Hey guys, not only has True-Flow made an excellent kit since early this year (which I use), but K&N just came out with a 77 Series kit for the '05 4.7.

What is the kit number and how much did it cost you? Do you have any pics?

I don't have any pics of mine right now, but I can take them later this weekend if you like. The part number is 30503, I ordered mine from realtrucks.com. If you do go with this kit, remove the damn factory snorkle from the airbox, it pops right out and makes a HUGE difference. I remember the kit costing around $250. The kit also includes True-Flow's foam filter which works great, but I'm a K&N guy myself. I could even sell you my current intake if you like if I decide to buy the new K&N kit.
