Hey all this is my first post here so be nice.  I have a little experience with turbos, and there is a reason why all high performance cars have there turbos close to the engine.

The reason you may not be experiencing lag is because of several reasons.

1) Small turbo

2) low psi

3) undersize the pipe for a long run

The point being is that no matter what, whether it's liquid or air, longer the run the more loss of PSI.  It is physics.

Also I am curious how or if you calibrated the ECU.  I assume you could probably run less then 8psi and be just fine.  Did you steal any toys from the "Tuners"?  You have peaked my interest, but I feel that there maybe some engineering flaws.

Oh yeah, heat is heat, you are going to either melt you hood or your bumper!

Edit:  Ok, I have read a little more on the subject.  Needless to say Perhaps I am too big of a skeptic.  Show me a price and I may show you some money.  By the way, I work with a lot of different people at the Kokomo trans plant.  They all seem to be interested in seeing me pull up in a HEMI turbo!

UPDATE

I checked more into rear mount turbo for the 5.7 HEMI.  With an intercooler you should be able to push 7psi without mods(meaning stock fuel pump and injectors).  Without an intercooler about 5psi.  The turbo they are specing outo is similar to a t3/t4(actually they recommended a 60-1p trim).  Total package was $2995.  Now this doesn't include pump, injectors, programming, nothing but basically hardware and K & N goodies along with oil sump.  Depending if there was a group buy, I would assume if you wanted to take the time you could but all of the essentials for half.  I could be wrong, but I once built a high 10s mitsu GSX.  Mind you the intercooler, if you want one, would be pricey.

Here is my best guess on costs:

Turbo from PTE $700 (Im guessing the CFM would be around 575-625)
piping $200
t-bolts $60
couplers $60-70
BoV $150-200
AFC(piggyback) $300
Boost controller $10-300
remote oil sump $$?
I would recommend an external wastegate as well $200-$300

Mind you, you can ebay a lot of this stuff and knock off maybe 10% or so.  Also, you are going to need someone that knows how to program your AFC (you go lean you go boom).  If you need more detailed info drop me a line.
