posi is the GM coined term that means limited slip, manufactured by Eaton now. Posi-trac, Sure-grip, etc... they all operate in a similar fashion.

What is it that you want? If you put an inexpensive locker in, such as a Lock Rite, and you only drive on the street you'll probably break it. My friend broke his twice on the street. I suggest rebuilding the OEM clutch pack. www.ringpinion.com can set you up. The trick with Mustangs is to take the best-shape 1 or 2 clutches from the old ones and add it/them to the new ones and it tightens it up quite a bit. I'm not sure if you can do that with the Sure Grip though.

If you insist on getting something else, I recommend an Eaton posi because you can get higher clamping rates.

I agree with Horato 120 for the most part but if you want to run a inexpensive locker, Power Trax (the makers of lock rite) sell a better system called the the Power Trax Noslip it will not click when you go around corners and I ran one in my 82 Ramcharger with 3/4 ton axles and a hoped up engine for about five years with out a problem, they do wear out over time and if you live in a area with snow you need to learn the way the truck handles after installing them, if you have the money the best thing to do is go with a selectible locker, ARB Air Lockers is what I run but Eaton and Detroit make a Electric that is suposed to be good.

If you want to save money and still get the better traction offroad, rebuild the cluchpack like Horato 120 said and install the locker in the front axle of the truck, just remember it is harder to turn the truck with a locker in the front, (only when in 4 wheel drive, does not effect handaling in 2X)

If you would like to see how a Power Trax no slip hold up check out some of my photo's, (Check out the 82 Ramcharger, I upgraded to ARB's shortly after changing to the 93 Ramcharger.) you can check them out on my web site Rockhoppers Ram's I have to apologize for the lack of paying for this site, you will only be able to view a few pages before the file exchange limit is reached I am working on this problem. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I would defenetly try the Powertrax noslip for what you want, unless of course you can afford the selectable ones, or if you are looking for a positive lock that is as close to bullet proof as your going to get, try a Detroit Locker.
