Default Exhaust question

I just have a quick question I hope someone can answer. I have a 99 Durango SLT 5.9L 2WD. I would like to replace my muffler to something a little more aggresive sounding, while keeping the stock exhaust pipe, i can do some small modifications if need be. I just can't find the diameter dimensions of the exhaust pipe so i can get the correct size muffler. If anyone has any suggestions on type, brand etc of mufflers that would be cool too.

Default RE: Exhaust question

The size of the stock pipe is 2.5".

Some good choices for mufflers are Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Gibson, Spintech.

Of course, if you want to go all out and go true dual..... GSMotorsports has a kit that bolts right up. www.gsmotorsports.com

Hope this helps!!

I would suggest running one 40 series Flowmaster and be done with it, maybe get a 3" tip for the more aggresive look but besides that you will have all you need. Running duals is all good until you have to find a way to run the pipes without it looking retarded. If you remember the Durango only has onenotch in the rear bumper for an exhaust pipe on the right side. So if you notice, all the Durangos you see with dual exhausts have an uneven exhaust or they have a bare notch showing on one side. Not to mention it looks kinda trashy. But that is just my humble opinion. Good luck.
