Try this on for size. I have a 92 Lebaron, same engine.

Pick up a 52mm TB from a 91-93 Dodge Dynasty 3.3 engines. They bolt right on, you just need a vacuum cap for one of the ports as the Dynasty has an extra one.

Get a K&N RU-3030 filter. Ditch the stock airbox and ducting and clamp the filter onto the end of the TB.

If you want to get really creative pull off your intake manifold. Crack it open and polish the inside. Remove the center divider as well. You can also get a 58mm TB off a 98+ minivan. It will also bolt to the intake but the intake mouth will need to be enlarged first.

High flow cat, 2.5" exhaust and a good muffler also help.

Get a better coil. MSD makes one that bolts to the stock bracket. I used a Blaster SS and an MSD 6AL ignition on my car with Taylor wires.

To firm up the handling get a front strut tower bar for a 95-99 Neon. Drill 2 extra holes in each mount and you can use it on your car. I did it to mine and it did tighten up the front end.

Here are some pictures of mine. I haven't updated yet with the MSD install and tower bar though.

Overall I was happy with the increase. TB and filter made the biggest difference. Pulls much stronger now. I have a lightly polished intake on there right now. I have a spare in the garage that I will be cutting off the center divider and cleaning up.

Underdive pulleys also help, but they are getting harder to find these days.

Here is a breakdown of the performance gains you can expect from each mod.

Mods that work:

Underdrive pulley .............................. 6-7 hp (dyno tested, A. Taylor)
52 mm throttle body ......................... 6-7 hp (dyno tested, A. Taylor)
K&N Cone filter ................................. 6-8 hp (dyno tested)
8-9 mm spark plug wires ................. .1-.2 tenths in quarter mile.
180F degree thermostat ................... 4-5 hp (dyno tested)
Bumping timing 2-3 degrees ............ .1-.2 tenths in quarter mile.
Mobil 1 motor oil ................................ 3 hp (dyno tested, A. Taylor)
2.5" exhaust system with no cat...... .3-.4 in quarter mile (Cliff Sebring)
Nitrous Oxide ..................................... 50-150 hp (Cliff Sebring)
(A larger fuel pump is needed at higher hp levels)

Now that's digging up the dead.

The best bet is just to get a Iroc R/T with the 2.2L Turbo III and go from there.
