Default Is this normal

On my 1998 Durango SLT, I am able to take it off park onto Rear or Drive without having to press on the brake pedal ?? I know that on my 1997 Grand Cherokee there was a recall and all ... does anyone know if there was a recall on the Durango's for this ?

Seems weird to me !

Thanks

I cannot take my D out of park without pressing the brake pedal. Sounds strange, and also is kinda a safety hazard, might wanna get that checked.

Some vehicles are able to be shifted out of Park without your foot having to be on the brake, my Mom's 1998 Cirrus is one of them. I don't know if the Early Durangos were the same way, but I can't shift mine out of Park without the Brake being depressed.
