Who told you this? The SRT-4 will come back with the Caliber or Rebel.

I was referring to the Neon SRT-4, while Dodge would be retarded to not come out with an SRT-4 Caliber or Rebel, the time that GM has to itself in the market will allow it to create a customer base for the Cobalt SS S/C among the people that don't know any better, and will be able to hold that sales lead for a little while.

if you are going to make a "super sport" car, why would you put a 205hp engine in a car. look at the montecarlo ss only 240hp. haha

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and couldn't resist responding to this thread.
Now, I'm posting this as the owner of a 95 Impala SS and as a business owner who has specilized in this model for years.

As an owner I pretty much agree with you guys, to a point. GM doesn't have a friggin clue as to what the public wants. They do stick the "SS" emblem on pretty much anything because they can't boost sales by offering an innovative, exciting, etc model. But, (and my wife and I own a 2005 Durango with 5.7 Hemi), Dodge also sticks the "Hemi" badge on quite a few vehicles for marketing purposes as well. And it works for both companies. Where Dodge has excelled is in bringing concept vehicles to production. They ask the market "what do you think?". The markets say, we love it and Dodge has built it. GM is opposit, they ask, "what do you think?", the market says, we love it and GM says, OK thanks but you can't have it. Instead they build these generic cars/trucks and try to tell people what they SHOULD like and SHOULD buy. GM, get a clue!

Now, from a business owner who specializes in the Impala SS, the 94 - 96 Chevy Impala SS is pretty much the last of the "true" muscle cars that deserve the "SS" emblem. If you guys haven't had the pleasure of driving or riding in one, or haven't been up against one on the street, you can't begin to appreciate how awesome they are.

In closing, I'm here now as an owner and a vendor and I hope to be able to bring high end quality parts to THIS market and offer the same customer service I have earned with the Impala SS owners.

I know you specialize in gm automotive fabrications but i have a few customers that want turbo manifolds for their 3.8 mustangs. If you could fab some for me I would appreciate it. PM me if you dont get the PM from me first....This has nothing to do w/ the topic at hand.

We can do pretty much anything as long as we have a car available for R&D. I sent you a PM earlier today.

Thanks.

Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep stick the HEMI badge on vehicles because............. they have HEMI's in them......

True, they have HEMI's in them, but they are not the "HEMI" engine most of us remember. Nor are they the "HEMI" engine Dodge would have us believe they are. But, they own the rights to the badge, and the engines installed are technically "HEMI's", so why not use it for marketing.

As far as the "SS" badge, it was used on many vehicles around the same time the original "HEMI" was used. The "SS" badge was never reserved as having to be installed on a car which meets any specific requirements. So GM can also use it for marketing, which I already agreed they do, way too much.

hahaaha!!! personally, i think GM is not "crap" by anymeans. a few years ago dodge was nothing but crappy cars. then as soon as they brought the hemi back, dodge fans thought they were the shit. yes GM might not be the best car brand in the world, but they do have good cars. dont get me wrong i love dodge also, but im not soo close minded that i have to obsess over one brand..i like my american cars. so for everyone who is bashing GM for using the SS name, theres nothing wrong with it at all. just bc something has SS doesnt mean its gotta have a big V8 and rear drive. for those who dont remember, SS began as just a apperance package..a way to get some more chrome inside and bucket seats.......but the whole idea of SS was making a car that looked cooler, and had some upgrades such as brakes, suspension, different wheels, etc.

Seriously, it's not like Dodge has never slapped the vaunted R/T badge on a front drive slow ass car....

Don't worry, I was including my R/T in that statement.

My R/T is FWD, there are no factory NA AWD Stealths, although in Europe and Japan all 3000gt's are AWD whether they are NA or TT.
