Throughout the internet this rumor has come up again and again)
Rumor has it that the next-gen Tiburon will be rear-wheel drive with part-time AWD, styling cues from the HCD-8 concept, the 3.3 (235hp) and 3.8(270hp) Lambda V6s as engine choices, and the retractable hardtop from the Tiburon CCS as an option.

MotorTrend's Info
2007 Hyundai Tiburon : Redesign. Hyundai's HCD8 Sports Tourer concept on the 2004 auto show circuit was the first vehicle to emerge from the Hyundai Kia Design and Technical Center in Irvine, California. The sleek, "ballistic yellow" sports machine offered the first look at the next-gen Tiburon. At the heart of the HCD8 is a supercharged 2.7-liter V-6 engine mated to a six-speed manual transaxle. An adjustable air suspension allows the pilot to adjust ride height a total of four inches, depending on driving needs. A convertible model is expected to join the coupe

Hyundai making a powerful car! Never saw that coming. Looks "ok" if they fix the headlights to make them bigger, and the same with the fog ligths. There's so much room near the fog light area that could be fixed...

i feel that the front end is a bit more radical than anything hyundai would actually produce...they tend to stay very conservative with their styling...and something like that is gonna be a love it or hate it car...i would be surprised.

HAHA might as well slap a Mitsubishi sticker on that and its carryin our motors in em too....heheh well Hyundai/KIA goes two ways they use mitsubishi and Mazda so I could see where they can style it like an rx-8 and use Mitsu based motors...Unfortunately I dont see em coming out w/ that AWD deal unless there is an AWD line coming up for Diamler or mitsubishi cuz we share a small market w/ Hyundai Kia on the mitsubishi side. The Mazda side however is used primarily in the RIOS and SUVS for KIA where as Hyundai doesnt use them as much in their cars.
