well i got this 88 4x4 dakota with the 3.9l engine and auto, but the front axle isn't engaging, so i removed the 2 vac lines from the axle and put the truck in 2wd and 4wd and the vacumn switched from 1 line to the other(which side should be pulling when in 4x4), but the vacumn seemned weak.

well when i removed the vac lines i was already in 4wd lo, and the 4wd light came on, but went out as soon as i moved the truck.

if i cant get this vac system to work can a gen 2(i guess the early 90 have and electric setup) bolt up or are there manual hubs for this truck?
