i have a 97 stratus with 81k miles on it. it runs fine execpt for a squeeking noise from the front drivers side wheel area. it seems to only make the noise when you turn or go over a bump.
any ideas what this might be?

Your Stratus only has 2, maybe 4 if the rear upper B.JB's have them. Your squeak noise is probably the steering gear-commonly known as the rack-n-pinion, tie rods. Both the inner and outer tie rods have been known to make noise going over bumps, especially slow speeds like speed bumps in a parking lot.

hey dodgemech - thanks for the input. i got under the car last night and found that i only have two grease points on the upper ball joints on the front end.
the noise is when going over bumps and steering at slow speeds.
what is the remedy for this? is there something i can do myself?
i took the car into dodge last year when it was makign the sound every now and then and they couldn't locate it. now it does it all the time.
thanks again

You probably have a mouse making the squeeking noise. He probably has built his nest there and when you turn the wheel, it pinches him making him squeek. When you go over a bump, it also makes him squeek because he is uncomfortable. Feed him some cheese before you go anywhere, and this should solve your problem.
i have a 1997 dodge stratus. i dont know much about cars just what i learned form my dad. (who i cant get ahold of.) my car when in park or drive shakes a little hard and very bad if i go above 50 mph. it acts as if its going to die on me. i think it might be the transmission but i would like someone else to give a idea. please..
