That's what I thought as well judging from what Bob posted earlier. Maybe a custom paintjob?

It had all the 'Daytona' graphics and everything... it was most definately legit but I don'te understand the color of it... I too thought it was only Top Banana and Go ManGo on the Charger Daytona's...

I'm sure you could just buy the graphics and the wing. Might be a "dealer made" daytona. Or the guy just went to the parts counter on his way out of the dealer.

i wanted to ask, but when we got along side him, he was picking his nose..lol

If thats the case the dealer probably sold him a "limited edition" daytona! LOL!

Mopar Performance

that wouldn't of stopped me i would of asked him

why are you picking your nose?
and
how did you get a daytona in that color?

hahaha...that would have been an odd series of questions MP...i should have thought of that! :D

On the dodge website, they have specifications for the charger se, sxt, rt and within the past few days, the charger rt daytona. it could be in production.

I dont think it's a Daytona, it doesnt have that black graphic between the tail lights like the Daytona, but he could have had it taken off.

i dont know what you mean maniac...have any pictures?

Go here http://www.dodgeforum.com/m_150726/tm.htm, its the pics of the Daytona, go down to the second pic shown, and you will see the rear end of a Go ManGo Daytona, with the black graphic i was talking about. The pic you got shows the car without it, so i was saying it must not be a Daytona. Hope this helps

hmmm..its like most of the decklid is painted...how odd..it had the wing, and the hood / side markings..

by all means! why did i see an inferno red Daytona (side markings, hood markings, wing) ?

Mopar Performance
06-02-2005, 01:19 AM
i told you to ask em

why he was picking his nose?
and how he got a daytona like that?

I'd go to the same intersection everyday and wait for a cloned red charger daytona go by

when it does explain the situation to him and why you wouldn't ask him the first time im sure he will tell you about it

Thanks Amanda,

Thanks for the invite BadStratRT. Looking at your picture it appears that the Dodge Charger is in fact Inferno Red, so it cannot be a Dodge Charger Daytona R/T. The only available colors for the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T are Go ManGo and Top Banana.

In addition, as Dodge maniac stated it is missing the black Daytona graphic on the deck lid. This is another indication that this is not a Dodge Charger Daytona R/T.

For additional information on the Dodge Charger and Dodge Charger Daytona R/T, please click on this link. 2006 Dodge Charger (http://www.dodge.com/charger/index.html)

Sorry for the delay in responding. I hope this helps!

another difference too is it looks like in that picture the R/T badge is all chrome, a real daytona has the retro style R/T that's red with chrome trim around it.

no....really, its red...the original muscle car era R/T badges were indeed red centers with chrome trim...someone here has one on a amgnum...but i dont recall who...

Funny... I'm sitting here looking at the 2006 Charger Daytona poster over my bed and the R/T badge is orange....

Which are we talking about new Charger or old Charger

You know what, my Charger brochure that I got today mentions this..."Future Daytona's will bring additional heritage colors." Wonder what "heritage" colors they mean?

DodgeInfoCenter
06-10-2005, 04:01 PM
Hello again everyone!

At this time Dodge hasn’t released what the next heritage color will be. Although a few days after the 2006 Dodge Charger and the Charger Daytona R/T were introduced at the Daytona 500 there was an event at Dodge City at Daytona. More than 60,000 Dodge fans attended the event. They got thrill rides in the new Charger and the Charger Daytona and voted for their favorite Charger Daytona classic muscle car color. There were 20,000 votes cast, with Plum Crazy finishing on top, followed by TorRed and Go ManGo! This may not indicate the new heritage color to come, but we are collecting your input.

Thanks again,

Here's a couple pics with a different looking color to the Daytona's. Is it burnt orange or that TorRed color?

Just a thought and curiosity but...if PlumCrazy was on top of the list then why wasn't it released as one of the first heritage colors? Is that a marketing thing? I just find it odd that the color most wanted by the public wasn't offered to the public. Hate to put you on the spot but appreciate the inputs.

hmm...i think that those actually are the same color, but as light hits it in different ways, it looks darker....also, one of them could be an earlier picture, with sort of an mock up paint?

Sorry for the confusion silvercoupe97. The polling for favorite Charger Daytona classic muscle car color was done a few days after the introduction of the current 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona. So Plum Crazy did make it to the top of the list, but after the initial showing. Again, I am unaware at this point if Plum Crazy will be a choice for consumers in the near future. Although you are more than welcome to continue checking the Dodge website (http://www.dodge.com) or contacting us here at the Dodge Information Center. We consistently receive updated information on all Dodge vehicles. I hope I’ve been a help and if you have any other questions, comments or suggestion, please let me know.

So about what time frame will Dodge announce the next heritage colors? It had better be Plum Crazy too because my wife got wind of this being a possible color and said we can't get a Charger until purple comes out. This would be a good marketing color for women to buy this car. So make it happen by next spring!

Hello t0973mf,

At this time Dodge hasn’t announced when they are going to reveal the next heritage color that’s going to be available. What I would suggest is staying in contact with us at the Dodge Information Center, or visiting Dodge.com (http://www.dodge.com) for updates. I do apologize that I couldn’t provide you with any other information at this time, but if anyone else has any questions comments or concerns, please let me know.

John B.

I've been trying to get info on the Charger, but have had no luck so far. I was checking out the strings here and saw your response, and immediately thought that if anyone can give me answers it would probably be you. I have yet to test drive an SRT-8 but fully suspect it will meet and exceed my expectations. I would like to know before buying one if there are "SRT" upgrades to the power that can be dealer or factory installed. I am thinking that I may want to have a supercharger put on. Other than that, are there any other upgrades that I will be able to have installed to increase power without voiding the warranty? Also, when will they be available in Canada?

Thanks

Everything looks great on that car, except for the hood scoop. That, to me ruins it.

The hood scoop is terrible. The spoiler is from TheSpoilerFactory and is for the 'stang!!! Would never put that on a Charger.

I had my first Charger sighting yesterday. I was riding my bike after work down in the SW/SE region of DC and as I passed through an intersection a Bright Silver Metallic Charger SE pulled up to the cross road. I immediatley stopped and turned aroudn to go behind it and was staring at the car. That front end is reeeeallly good looking. AS I made my U-turn I realized I wasn't in the best part of town and maybe I shouldn't be staring. So I gave it some room and started trailing it. He lost me pretty quick go figure. But I'll chalk it up as #1. I wish I could see that front end again.

the SE doesn't have a chrome front grill or fog lights does it, so just wait until you see an R/T

I've seen a midnight blue (or whatever color that dark blue one is) driving around here, I'm not sure about the trim though. The front looks intimidating, like it should be going fast all the time, lol. Anyway....
