Default Shifting Woes

We are having a shifting problem with our D. I hope someone can help us. It's been going on for about 2 weeks or so now and no dash lights (check engine light, etc.) have come on. We are leaving for a weekend trip next weekend and we want to have this taken care of before we leave. After about 20-30 minutes of driving and you can notice it more when going faster, but when you reach about 70 at the top of a hill or wherever and proceed to slow down, the D suddenly down shifts and the rpms go from 2000 to spiking to over 3000. Sometimes to get it to go back to normal is to slowly speed up and it up shifts and the rpms return to normal (what I think is normal). It doesn't always do this at a high speed, sometimes at 50 or even 30. We had the tranny totally rebuilt almost 2 years ago and haven't trouble with it until now. The service guys can't find out what is wrong with it and can't seem to get it to do anything wrong. I even took a service guy for a ride in it, but I think maybe it was too heated up and it never acted up. If this is normal, we have not witnessed it before. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. We are at our wits end.

How about the Shift Linkage Spring...? Mine had a similar problem and that was the solution...

I just talked to the service guys today and still haven't found anything yet. They are going to check the solenoid and see if thats it. If not I'm taking it back and see what happens. They have taken it for more rides and they still have found nothing wrong. So maybe its our imagination or something. But thanks for the info. Keep your fingers crossed.
