Ok, it finally stopped raining on Thursdays. Last night was Test & Tune at Kilkare Speedway in Xenia, OH. I took out the Ram to have some fun for my first time. I started with 1/4 tank, by the end had 1/8. I only have a K&N FIPK as a mod. The slow increase in powerbraking was because I wasn't sure if my brakes would hold me back. I had powerbraked before on the streets and broken loose at like 1300 RPM's. For the type of truck, check my sig. I got 6 runs in and here's the finals.
Run #1 (Tow/Haul ON, NO Powerbraking, Tailgate up)
15.75 @ 85.73 mph
Run #2 (Tow/Haul ON, Powerbraking ~ 1200 RPM, Tailgate up)
15.92 @ 85.20 mph (I wrote this one off to having just driven home for long pants and coming back, so the engine was all heated up.)
Run #3 (Tow/Haul ON, Powerbraking ~ 1500 RPM, Tailgate up)
15.76 @ 85.53 mph

Viper, what rear gears do you have in your truck....????
I am concidering going to the farmington strip here, but I believe its a 1/8 mile.... but I have 456 gears......
Cant understand why you got better times with the tow/haul off......Todd, any thoughts on that???

The tow haul made uses the lower 2nd gear option and I think it holds gears longer, and doesn't go into 4th gear either or allow the converter to lock.
Those 4.56's are good for Farmington. At rockingham i ran a 9.47 ET.
Reaction times were all just under a second, I couldn't get the beast rolling that fast. I punched it at the 3rd yellow light but next time I may try the second. I have the 3.92's in the rear. I was getting faster as the night wore on, I just need to figure out when I can stop powerbraking and let the petal down. I tease my buddy alot cause he dragged his s/c 98 mustang and his worst time was a 14.99, right close to my best. I didn't know they made higher gears than the 3.92's, are they aftermarket? What benefits do you see from them?

I'm hoping to hit the track again this Thursday, anybody got any suggestions? I was thinking about taking the tailgate OFF totally.

Tailgate off is good, I plan on going to The Farm soon and check out my 1/8th time... will let you all know when it happens....
Also my gears (456) were aftermarket by Richards, installed by a pro, not me, and feel real strong compared to other hemi's I have driven....
Some day I plan on going and seeing Todd and doing the Rock.... then we'll see what my mods so far have done......
Good luck Viper on your thursday runs...let us know............

it would be an option to pull it off, save some weight, but then again, the weight of the tail gate being in the back would add some traction to the rear wheels. but the weight might not be enough to see a gain.
but you never know.
I need to take both my truck to the track and see what they do. 5th in my ram (1:1) is a blast on the highway.
the Ram has 4.10's my yoda I'm unsure of but I think it may have something along the lines of a 3.55 or lower, not sure though
