Check Engine Light
I have a 99 Durango that I drove off the show room floor in 99. It has given me little trouble beyond the ABS/Brake light problem. Recently, say 2 months ago, the Check engine light came on. I had it checked, no codes. A day or so later, the Check Engine light went off. I began to monitor it and: When I would drive someplace, no light, and stop and lock with the remote, the horn would not sound when locking. I knew the Check Engine light would be on the next time I started it. The light would remain on for 5 to 6 starts and go out. I have since had the battery fail, this does not seem to be related. For my climate, the battery failure did not surprise me, but the Check Engine light comes on now and then, no codes, and goes off after a few starts. The vehicle is a 5.9L and drives as good as it ever did, no other problems apparent. It has about 50K miles on it.
Any ideas!!!
As well, does the 3 times on/off work with the odometer on the 99 Durango?
