Any ideas on the MPG ratings on the SRT-8? I am all for the 420+ HP engine but if we are talking 15 city/18 highway, then it is probably time to rethink the bigger engine with gas prices the way they are today.

I can't imagine MPG being a concern of anyone considering an SRT anything... I think this car is awesome, simply awesome...

6.1L has gas mileage as so: 14 city, 19 highway, 18.4 combined

thats is from the 300c srt8 which has the 6.1L and happens to weight exactly the same as the charger srt8

How did you get the combined gas mileage (or does the manufacture get it)? It seems like it would be combined 16.5

I know the Chrysler 300 gets 17/24 for the 5.7 engine. Combined 20.5 ?

Scoops are ALL functional on ALL SRT designed vehicles. Pull the hood up on an SRT vehicle and notice even the areas are preformed under the top sides of the hood to cut out and install an added Air Intake cooler.... If you think the SRT team just throws stuff on to make it look better or act better...it's so much more than that.... After we met the SRT development team at the El Toro Marine Base Dodge Launch a few weeks ago, we were thrown into the knowledge of SRT strategies, and from the Neon to the Charger, all scoops are 100% functional...

Now, like all Dodge fans over here in California...I continue to say...get out and drive! and as always, grab life by the horns and F%$##$ hold on :)

I know this thread is starting to slow down but I went and re-read it and just wanted to say...

This car is so dang awesome!

I like the Charger RT enough but the SRT-8 is simply bad-*SS! I can't wait to see this thing! Funny enough I bought my magnum about, ohhhhhh 3 days before this press release came out... Well, my local dealer here did right by me with my magnum purchase, so I think I will send them a nice letter explaining that I could be a return customer soon if they treat me fair again. They already know I don't pay over MSRP, which might hurt my chances of getting in one of these.

New pages up. Got this from Dodge Marketing via email.
http://www.dodge.com/autoshow/charger/?pid=edirect&adid=CHRG8-Charger%20SRT8&rid=%20
http://www-5.dodge.com/vehsuite/ModelSelector.jsp?vehicle=CHARGER&pid=edirect&adid=CHRG8-Charger%20SRT8&rid=u

Apparently you can't "build" an SRT-8 yet though for pricing. God I wish they would do away with that 2 tone interior. It is looking more and more that it is not an option to get rid of it for all 1 color.

Wing Viper...

I can tell you that on the Ram SRT-10, Mine just dumps into the engine compartments. There is an opening behind the grill that funnels air into the air box where the air filter is. So it already gets outside air.

Side note, are you in the USAF? Saw your avatar, I am and have been for over 20 years now.

Are the hoods on the SRT-10, SRT-4, or Rumble Bee functional? I'd say that would give us the best answer.
