I would say either air intake or a chip not a jet chip supposedly theres a module you can buy that cost 20 dollars and gives you anywhere from 7- 20 horses you can choose how much power you want with a dial that is featured go to ebay thats the only place ive seen it

i just purchased a 2003 3.9 dakota. i was told the best investment was a set of headers and performance exhaust. i think JBA makes direct fit headers.

Be careful when purchasing headers. I have an 04 Dak 4.7L V8 and I was told by my exhaust guy that if I put headers on it I would be in computer trouble. Not sure if its true, but my exhaust guy is an owner of a Meineke here in NJ and has 4, 1/4 mile trucks. I am gonna take his word. Hope this helped a little.

There are plenty of people out there with headers on their 4.7L trucks, there's no computer issues at all.

No kidding? Man I wish I knew that before doing everything else I have done. Do you know of a great set of headers that will go well with a custom flowmaster system? I am running a K&N FIPK and I have a 2 chamber Flowmaster muffler. Thanks for the info....
