Well, it's possible it's the size constraints combined with some basic muscle car, coupe, styling that has you seeing Chevy. Perhaps it's the illusion of that picture (that also distorts the actual 06), but there's very clear Charger lines and strong (classic) stance there if you can relate to it.

However, as I said, if you prefer the new Charger with common modern sedan styling and stance, then there's nothing I'm gonna chop or sketch as a Charger that's probably going to impress you.

To each his own, but of those I've heard from, far more people that approve of this direction, than the actual 06.

I just hate hearing Dodge looks like something when we are the only different looking American car company as it is, nothing looks like us and its one of the reasons why we are better. We are the most copied, envied, and hated company ever, and thats why we are the best.

How many times have I heard "you have nothing constructive to add, so butt out"?
I think plum's contribution here is fantastic, but nick wants to throw rocks. Now who has nothing constructive to add?

Plum, your overlay of your model with the '06, contrary to one's opinion, shows why those who say the '06 has to look the way it does because of chassis and cabin constraints are full of it.
Very cool.
Let's build kit cars!

If only,
That looks sweeeeeeet. A 6 speed and $0.70 leaded gas and I would wet myself.

Plum,
I notice in your overlay that you've altered the roofline by what looks to be about two inches (lower) in the rear. From a structural standpoint, that would make your model harder to produce if starting from the '06 is a criteria.
If you kept the roofline identical to the '06, but added an inverted "tunnel"around the rear window (like the 2nd gen had) to retain the nice raked look, I'm wondering if the same visual effect could be had.

I've just gone back and reviewed the overlay once more, and b'leevitornot, I don't think the rear window of the stocker is really that bad. So leaving the roofline as the '06 already is, and adding some material in the side rear window area (as you have), would make your model an even more realistic-read that "produceable"- automobile.

plum, although you did a decent job on the most recent one, i like the older ones you did better because they were truer to THE CHARGER. this one all that is the same to THE CHARGER is the tires and rims. At least making the 4 door of THE CHARGER a 2 door, looked really realistic, because that could be done. this one is so far out there it isn't even an option.

loghead you are a retard

nick,
Did you bother to look at the overlay? Do you know what an overlay is?
Plum's overlay is a comparison between his model (the older one; the one you just said you like)and the '06.
So you think I'm a retard?
I also happen to be a structural designer; so I'm taking into consideration the things I know about taking a concept and making it real.
I've been turning wrenches, welding and fabricating since before you were a bad idea your parents had.
I've got some advice for you nick:
Learn how to spell and punctuate before you call anyone a retard.

The new Charger is the most "true" to the Charger there is , It is the Charger Period.

The only being produced that is Charger for '06, is plastic badges. I'm glad they didn't use the script at least. :D

I've come to the realization -- well, as has been pointed out to me before -- the LX platform won't really support a Charger design all that easily. (Though I do like the 300 and Magnum, don't get me wrong)
