MAgnaflow for sure. the flowmaster is a bit to raspy IMO for a v-6. Had the magnaflow on my Dak and it sounded good.

magnaflow, straight thorugh design is better. Flowmaster uses baffles. baffles can suck my balls.

Hey,
Most of the mustangs you hear running around are probally running a Flowmaster. Most people like the sound of them. I personally have only used Flows in my aftermarket exhaust upgrades cause i like the SOUND. But all in all its what YOU want.

I've got a 5.0 running 40 series Flows, and a Ram running a 30 series Flow. I'll probably put another 30 series on my Dakota when I get around to really doing the exhaust. I love the sound and I don't care if I lose a couple of HP over a Magnaflow. I've got a Flo-Pro on the Dak now and I don't like the sound as much - it's a magnaflow ripoff.

flowmaster has been the name in performance exhaust for ages for a reason.

Im running magnaflow on my dak for about a year now, and i have recieved many many compliments on the strong sound but not the LOUD as hell sounds as the flowmaster, i will put on flowmasters next to see my person prefrence, but for me i'm 100% satisfied with my maganflow setup.

flowmasters come in a lot of different types
40 series = 2 chamber
30 series = 3 chamber (quieter)
I'm not sure how the 50 and others fit in, but the 70 series big block is what I had on my 99 grand cherokee with the 4.7L, it was a bit too quiet imho - it was about as loud as the 98 5.9 limited stock.

The 40 series on my 5.0 seems a bit too loud really, I mean it's cool, but it's damned loud.

Does Flowmaster have a "break in " period, to burn the stuff out??

There's no stuff to burn out. It's just empty with some angled baffles to direct sound. It'll smell a little funny for a bit while the oils burn off, but that's standard with any exhaust component.

on our flowmaster, it was dead quiet but u could tell it was there ;) after about 3-4k miles it sounded ALOT better. Whats funny the mechanic said it would tone down.. it did, it got louder too, even my dad, at 67 years old, loves to nail the gas and let the V6 rip.
