RE: flowmaster VS Magnaflow - 2/12/2007 9:57:47 PM    CitizenShane   Posts: 1 Joined: 2/12/2007 Status: offline I have a 96 mustang V6 3.8L and I installed Flowmaster M40 true duals a few days ago, and I have to admit, the first time i cranked it up you could barely hear them. Now they are really breaking out and I have no idea why but im excited to see how loud they are going to get! A friend of mine has the 95 GT with Magnaflow duals and I have to admit, I expected it to be louder when he cranked it up. (in reply to 99Dakota) Post #: 16

RE: flowmaster VS Magnaflow - 2/13/2007 1:03:42 AM    rhowe   Posts: 174 Joined: 7/21/2006 From: Kansas City/Cincinnati Status: offline don't know about flowmaster but when i had a magflow...on my scirocco it was about as raspy as can be.  and that sounded good with that engine, but with the dodge magnum v6 i wouldn't want that sound at all. i've have heard some raspy v6's and it just doesn't sound right.  the straight through mag. that i put on later sounded pretty deep though.  dont know how the straight through would sound on a v6 dak though.  when it warms up a little bit here maybe i'll try it and post the results.... If I go with a Magnaflow or Flowmaster, is it legal in Canada to have a system like this. I know we have different emissions regulations than my Southern friends. Thx Eh. I would look for a smaller buisness. RE: flowmaster VS Magnaflow - 3/10/2007 11:54:25 PM    boohoops   Posts: 140 Joined: 1/20/2007 From: pacifica, CA Status: offline u should also consider borla. they sound awsome or even spintech. as for sound from flows, the 70 series has better flow than the 50s but r quieter (correct me if im wrong). arent 40s the loudest? i think it has something to do with the mufflers length. i hav a 30 series flow on my truck, but its too quiet for me. i wanna get th 50series or a borla setup. i hav nothin against magnaflow, its just the guy at the muffler shop sells borlas and flows and special orders the magnas. however, somone told me that flowmasters steal a little bit of hp, which i doubt. i would go with FLOWMASTERS (in reply to rhowe) Post #: 30
