Amanda put this in that section:

Auto Exhaust Flame Thrower by The Jolly Roger

For this one, all you need is a car, a sparkplug, ignition wire and a
switch. Install the spark plug into the last four or five inches of
the tailpipeby drilling a hole that the plug can screw into easily.
Attach the wire (this is regular insulated wire) to one side of the
switch and to the spark plug. The other side of the switch is attached
to the positive terminal on the battery. With the car running, simply
hit the switch and watch the flames fly!!! Again be careful that no
one is behind you! I have seen some of these flames go 20 feet!!!

You really think that will work? You will at least need a ignition coil.

i haven't tried it yet... but it seems to make sense the way it is. electrical currents going to the spark plug would make it spark the exhaust.

That's an old hotrodders trick. When you do it just make sure there's nobody standing behind you.

A better way to keep false claims and things out.

The mods might be able to do it also... I'm not sure though. I've never placed a new thread in a closed forum at Chryslerforum

About 50 years ago we used a model T ford coil for spark at the plug. They had a set of points and when set right they would vibrate creating a series of sparks as long there was current to them. Rev the engine up and let off the accelerator, this would make a rich mixture in the exhaust and pretty flames out the pipes. Modern engines with the catalytic converters and computer mixture controls will probably not do that with out a source of fuel supplied to the tailpipe.

You're exactly right Charlie. Most show vehicles that have this type of thing on them now inject propane into the exhaust pipe just upstream of the ignition source. You also have to have a way of modulating the current to the ignition source (ie spark plug) to get a series of sparks to ignite the gasses. And fuel injected vehicles will almost never get rich enough to do this. If they do it usually gets trapped in the catalytic, like you said.

Ok, I've got one-

Ram automatic to manual trans conversion.

I haven't done anything like that in 35 years. I guess it would about the same, get the parts together and a lot of work. One thing different, would the ECU be compatible?

ECU for what? The auto to manual swap? No, it's not compatible.
