Default Gauge pods

I want to put a trans temp gauge in our 01 R/T, but all i can find are the single A pillar mount pods. I like the look of the steering column mounts for the Ram, but I don't know if they will fit the D. Anyone tried, or know what years the columns are the same and might interchange? Or am I stuck with the single A pillar mount?

Bullitt: had same problem with my 01 R/T. found piller pod at Auto Metter part no. 1507. Summit or Jegs. Not listed in cat. but by calling either one you can get the pod. My questeion is how are you going to connect temp. gauge, as I'm in the same process as what you are doing. Sparky

Thanks for the reply. I'm kinda hesitant to put the gauge on the A pillar because I don't think I'll like it there, mainly because of the grab handle that takes up 80% of the pillar. Whenever I do get it installed, I'm gonna use one of the test ports on the trans itself. I attached a couple of pics of the port, the pics are actually of a Ram 2500 trans, but the port is in basically the same spot.

Bullitt: thanks for the info. and cool photos. You came up with good idea. I have not received my pod yet to see how it is going to look. I need to get the durango ready soon as racing season starts.

Got the gauge pod today, the fit is great. The problem is to paint it. The interior is two tone, Gray with I would say light cream. I con not find the paint to match the a-piler (light cream) Have no idea where the color number would be. If you have an idea let me know

Heh, not my idea, wish I could claim it. I found the info from SolidAxleDurango on PBB.

Anyway, I have no idea on color codes for the interior, my guess would be parts dept. at a dealer?? That would be good info for me as well. Post up some pics of the pod when you get it mounted if you can.
