Default Question on tires

I have a tire dilema. As you all may have read in other threads; I have an 02 Quad Cab 4x4 SLT with stock rims. I just recently got a flat due to either dry rot or I ran over something. I'd rather replace all 4 tires because all of them are cracked and the dealership when I bought it refused to replace them; eventhough they have a "Free Tires for Life" deal when you buy a new or used car or truck from them. Come to find out this deal doesnt include rot or punctures, just tread wear. This ticks me off; because I knew the tires were no good! Anyway the tires on the truck right now are 265/70/r16 Goodyear Wrangler RTS. I am having a hard time finding that size in other brands and styles I like, but am only able to find 265/75/r16 in those styles. My question is would those 265/75/r16 work on those stock rims?

P.S. I want Coopers or BF Goodrich...the only style I've been able to find are Uniroyal Laredo AWT in my size; I like those, but wanna get other ideas. [sm=feedback.gif]

Default RE: Question on tires

265= tire height. 75=the profile(technically its an aspect ratio or something to that effect) 16 is the rim size. the rim size is the only truley crucial item. you can be a hair bigger, maybe 285s(they may rub). the bigger 75s have more sidewall, and are ok.

Default RE: Question on tires

265/70R16 is equivalent to 31x10.5x16
265/75R16 is equivalent to 32x10.5x16

The 265/75 tires might fit but they could rub a little in the wheel well, because they're an inch taller.

If you stick with original size in a light truck tire, 31x10.5x16 is the size you want.

Hope this helps.

Well I already had the back tires replaced...I played hell trying to get the flat tire aired up enough to drive to the tire center, but got it done. I ended up getting Uniroyal Laredo AWT in the 265/70/r16, and will get the fronts done in a week or so since 2 is all they had.
I like these tires. I had them on my last truck I traded in, and liked'em so I decided to get them again.

31x10.50 16 would be a great option replacement. BFG or Nitto are good, BFG being the best for an AT type tire.

What about the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo? I don't need tires right now, but these are the ones I'm considering for when I do.

I myself wouldnt get them since they're Japanese made. I bought Uniroyals because they are American made, and havent ever had any probs with them!

I hear ya!

This is the tire I will be putting on my truck. 03 dak with same specs as yours. I have been shopping for 8 mos. Available online and at Sam's Club for cheap.

good luck!

Also, this site is the source for tires and tire sizes, though your local dealer may offer incentives like free rotation and balance for life if they broker the deal through the tire manufacturer.

I just replaced my Wife's SRA's with The Revos and absolutely love them. When my orginal SRA's where out on the Dakota I will defintely replace them with the Revos.
