Hey all,

I'm planning on getting a few loads of crushed stone in the next few weeks. I'm going to a quarry that can supposedly drop just the amount of stone you want in one shot. You back up, they put the big chute over your bed and *WHAM* 1/4 ton, 1/2 ton, whatever. I'm wondering if anyone knows what initial weight "Hit" a 2002 SXT could take. I'm looking at the figures for my truck on the door frame, but that's just max weight. I'm concerned I'll break a shock, or worse yet, a spring, or the infamous ball joint!

Thanks,
Patrick

lesson one...ball joints are on the front of your vehicle. lesson 2, i dont know what the max is...getting a large mass dumped in like the ford commercials and gmc commercials show is something i wouldnt put my truck through. but id say start with under a 1/4 ton...see what it does, personally, id shovel...or get a front end loader to do it...as far as breaking a shock or spring...its not gonna happen, but thats why you have a warranty;) isnt it...haha

tell them to load it gently:D, they are loading a passenger vehicle not a semi trailer, if they load it like they load a semi, then I would fall back on the old stand by, they break it, they bought it.
