Default Spark Plugs

Hi,

I have a 2002 Dakota 4x4, 4.7 litre and the manual says to change the spark plugs every 48,000 kms. I was under the impression that there were platinum plugs in there. Is there a plug that exists out there that would prevent me from changing them that often?

Why? You're talking about $24.00 worth of parts in a $20,000-$30,000 truck.
Don't sweat it, change 'em when it says to.

They aren't platinum plugs and should be changed at 30,000. (actually 24,000, but that's kinda cutting it thin) Which reminds me...hmm...
later...
