Default Civic vs Neon

Not really relavant but this twerp has been bangin neons. I want to find out if any of you guys know for sure whether or not a Neon w/ intake, exhaust, moderate lightening, and suspension will take a stock 2002 civic-non v-tech with rims, body kit, and huge speaker system. I think they have what? 105 hp? I'm talking drag or road course. I told the kid to put up or shut up, we race tomarrow night. I know I'm going to win since I have more than what I just listed but he thinks he's gonna smoke it. We've got to stand up for our pocket rockets right?

I ran a regular civic with my Craftsman lawnmower and lost by half a car length. It really sucked cause i just put the electric turbo kit on the Kohler engine and got an extra 0.005 HP at the rear wheels.

In all honesty, you should hammer the civic. If not, go get some driving lessons and your car fixed cause somethings broke.

Don't forget, the (stock) 1st Gen. Neons are slower than the 2nd Gen Neons. The reg. 2nd Gen Neons have 132 hp. I believe I've seen a 1st Gen Neon with around 110 horsepower (at the most 120).
I don't know about the 1st Gen R/T though.[&:]

hold up lblackneon- the 1st and 2nd gen have the exact same engines and trannies- putting out 132 hp. My '95 sohc is just as fast as a 2nd gen with the same set up pax the weight difference of course.

Unless you're wrong, I guess I read a wrong stat on the 1st gen. I'm going to look into that.

I second that its all the same, other than a new car might have a little more hp, just because of a newer motor with tighter rings and tighter tranny. My grandma could smoke a non-V-tech.

You should do really good against a non V-Tec Civic - I race against the '99 and '00 Civic Si VTec with my Stock '96 Neon - we are somewhat evenly matched at most tracks!
