Default 99 Dakota 5.2 mods?

Hi everyone, I am new here. I have had my Dakota for about a month and I am wondering what is going to be the best bang for my buck as far as upgrades. First I am thinking about a K&N cold air intake, then gibson exahst, and probably a chip once I can afford it. Does that sound like the right progression? I am trying to gain power and fuel effiency. Any advice would be great.

You are on the right track! CAI, low restriction exhaust, and tuning are a great start. The 5.2L is a little lazy, so those upgrades you metioned will let it breath better and really wake it up. I would try to include headers in that exhaust if possible, but before anything make sure your mechanical systems are up to snuff. Good luck!
