Default Help - LMC headlight harness

Easy enough to install, but the harness is too short!! I tried running it across the top radiator support - too short. I tried running it down low behind the bumper - too short. I ended up running it as tight as a piano string across the front of the transmission radiator.

Anybody install this thing and can give me some insight as to how you ran the harness to the passenger side headlight?

I've got it sitting ready to install. All honesty though if I can't figure out a way to run it I may just cut it and splice in some extra wire. Wouldn't be that hard of a job. I've got plenty of extra wire laying around but I'm not sure if I have any quite that big so I might would have to get some.

I ran the LMC harness from the driver-side headlight, down and under the radiator alongside the factory wiring harness, and then up to the passenger-side headlight. The wires are tight to the passenger side headlight but not so tight that I'd worry. No splicing required for me. I used plenty of zip ties to make sure the new harness wouldn't shift and tug on the passenger side bulb.

Thanks for the insight, Satellite. And thanks for the e-mail reply. I'll try that route.

I just installed mine a couple hours ago and all went fine. One thing I did have to do was cut a little of the yellow shielding off at the drivers side headlight to let the wires come apart further up.

You probably wouldn't have to do this had I not zip tied it in place already. I will go out and get pictures of what I did.

The only reason it doesn't look 100% factory is because of the zip ties. I didn't have any black ones left.

BTW do I need a fuse in here? It doesn't seem to have a fuse so I'm thinking I need one. I was just going to solder an inline fuse holder into each of the power lines. How big of a fuse will I need for them? I'm thinking the lights at high beams are 100 watts each so 200 watts which is right under 17 amps but I'm afraid it might trip a 20 amp fuse on startup so I was going to do a 30 amp fuse. Will that be enough? Is one power wire for each side or one for the low and one for the high beams?

Do I actually need this fuse or is it something I'm being over paranoid about?
