Anyone used the headlight harness LMC offers that is supposed to take the load off of your headlight switch and draw power from the battery? It says it is also for high power or higher wattage bulbs so that's the main reason I got it. I was looking at a Nokya or Luminics plug and play headlight harness and the cheapest I could find was $26 shipped on eBay and I got this LMC one for around $40 shipped and it is supposed to help by drawing power directly from the battery instead of the headlight switch. Has anyone used this? Is it worth the money? Did it help any? Any pros or cons?

someone had a post about a week ago on this, but it didn't draw any commentary. i had asked him if it brightened them up any and helped the dimness problem. he said maybe but not much. that sort of busted my bubble. i see the LMC harness has what looks like some in-line relays, but IIRC i thought our trucks already had relays in the PDC box, so i'm confused. i'd like to have a magic cure that would make the stock headlights brighter....

What exactly do you have to do to install it? Is it just basically plugging it in and running a wire to the battery? If so does it give you the wire to run to the battery or do I need to just use some hookup wire?

Also how did you run the wire to the passenger side from the battery? Since the battery is on the drivers side I know I will have to run it across the engine bay but I'm contemplating if it would be better to do it behind the front bumper somehow or if it would be better to go to the back of the engine bay and around on the firewall. That's how I've wired the Honda but I'm thinking if I went behind the front bumper somehow I would be able to hide it better and get it so it looks factory if you can even see it's there. Is there any danger if it gets close to the radiator of it getting hot or anything?

Shouldn't be any danger. Thats where I ran the wire from my drivers side fog light to my passenger side one, underneath along the frame, just not touching the radiator at any point.
Had it like that for several months, no issues. Even checked it the other day, other than being slightly dirty, looks the same as when I put it in.
if you run any wires from the positive side of the battery, you want to put a fuse as close to the battery as possible. if you have more than one, its a good idea to buy an additional fuse block that holds about 4 or 6 fuses. mount it around the drivers side fender well and run one pretty good sized wire over to it. then run circuits out to headlights, fog, extra backups, util lights, air compressors, etc. run the wire the shortest path. cover the wire in black split loom and wire tie it down tight.

I'm familiar with this. I'm for sure not a noob to wiring. I think it should be a pretty simple setup and not take long to install I just was kind of curious about what I should expect exactly so I could be prepared as I've never seen this kit in person so wasn't sure how it was setup.

I've never used it, but by looking at the wires, this is how it works.
Plug the male (yes male, headlight plugs go by their prongs, not plug) into your drivers side headlamp plug. Connect positive wire to + terminal, negative to ground. Find somewhere nice to hide all the relay's, then plug the female ends of the harness into the headlight bulbs. The Headlight plug on the passenger side of the truck will no longer be used.
I ordered a set of these last week. Still not here. I'll let you know how I make out.
Hometheaterman - Wow lots of questions. I'm sure the harnesses come with some kind of directions, but I'm sure it's a matter of attaching a pos and a neg wire to the battery and splicing into the "headlights on" control signal wire.
