Default Converting 2003 dakota 2x4 to a 4x4??

Hi there!

I am wanting totake my 2x4 dakota (2003) front end to a shop to replace it with a 4x4 front end. I am curious to know if any of you have done this, or heard about it being done? I would like some input/comments/experiences and would really to know if in the end there be would a point to doing it (cost-wise, etc!).

Thanks so much!

Default RE: Converting 2003 dakota 2x4 to a 4x4??

Most people will say sell the truck and buy a 4x4. But they just would be to scared to do it. The best way to do it is Buy a wrecked truck with the same year and engine and cab,(Like club cab) and swap frames. Thats what I did. With a 2003 it will invole swaping computer and wires. A shop will probably charge a great amount to do it. If I would guess somewhere around 6-7,000. So It up to you if you want to send it in to a shop for a month or 2 and spend seveal thousands of dollers or do it your self, or just sell it and buy a new truck for 15,000 or more.
