Default help with brake/abs lights

basically, I just bought a 1996 ram 1500 w/a 5.9 magnum,112,000 miles. my uncle who sold it to me just had the brakes done because the brake and abs lights were on. after the brakes were done the the lights were still on. I read something on the internet about mashing the brakes about 20 times to try and reset a switchg in the braking system but that didn't work. can anybody help???!!!!thanks guys

Default RE: help with brake/abs lights

jus recently had a similar problem with my 99 I have 92k on it... started her up one day an the brake and ABS lights were on everything worked fine cept I didnt get ABS if I needed it swapped out the rear wheel speed sensor on the top of the rear diff and all was well again... dont know if it helps but its a place to start. The whole job cost me less then 40 bucks an maybe an hour of time including picking up the part.
