Default Muffler/Exhaust Applications

Hey everyone, I was planning on getting a new muffler soon to put on the stock exhaust and was wondering about the stock application.
If I recall correctly its a 2.5" in and out but what about offset and muffler size? I'm planning on 50 series Flowmaster or maybe a Magnaflow
I have a: 2000 1500 5.9L in CA
Thank you!

It should be straight in and out. The length is the only diiference.

Okay thanks!
Any suggestions on length of the aftermarket muffler I get? I don't know much about sizing.
Also, will clamping work fine for a while till I can get it welded?

You should measure the inlet and outlet sizes so you don't have to use adapters.

I went to look up your stock exhaust to see what size the inlet and outlet is and they are 2 1/2". But, it looks like you need an offset muffler, not straight.

A 942553 is offset, whether or not its the right offset is hard to say.

Thanks again!
Would I need to just order the same offset as the stock muffler?
