Solution to high gas prices... Stop drinking coffee.
Its no secret that people hate high gas prices... But think of it this way:
Alot of the people whining also stop at a chain coffee shop, such as Starbucks, everyday, like clock work. According to Starbucks, the average loyal customer visits 18 times a month, and spends an average of $4.50 per visit. So, take $4.50, times 18, and you get $81 dollars.
Now, take yesterday's gas prices. The average person fills up once a week. Say you have a 20 gallon tank, and you fill 15 gallons @ 2.50 per gallon. Thats $37.50 to fill up, and 4 weeks in a month = $150 per month.
Now, take today's gas prices. Use the same variables above, but with the price of gas at $4.00 per gallon. So to fill up, it takes $60 instead of $37.50. In one month, that would cost $240 per month. Thats a $90 increase per month over gas at $2.50. What did we say you would save by not drinking coffee?
So, to review, if you stop and take 10 minutes at home before work, and make your own coffee, and it greatly closes the gap of high gas prices. To take it even a step further, cut back on the amount of fast food and other amenities, and you could actually be saving money, even with high gas prices, while being able to drive all you want.

There aren't any coffee shops or fast food joints within 30 miles of me, so it's not a problem. About the only driving left to cut out are my 3-4 times a week visits to the post office which is a half mile away.....

that is a good plan, but to give up my micky dee is out of the question. no, just kidding... perhaps technicians can find a way to stretch the gas by way of special solutions. a devise that would have to be perhaps seperate from the fuel and delivered to the fuel to stretch it??? any geniuses out there???
