Default Chugging Noise.

Hey Guys! I need some input, I have recently started driving my truck with the a/c off and windows down. I hear this chugging soundwhen I press the gas. At first I thought it was knocking, but It is louder out the passenger window. I am wondering if anybody has had the same kinds of sounds. It seems to go awaay a bit once it's warmed up.
What could this be? I also thought it might be a leaking header?
If you have any ideas please ring in. Thanks in advance fellas.

Does anybody owning the 4.7 have any difference in motor noise from startup to warm?

Well the stock fan is quite loud and runs for a bit when it's first started but other than that not really. My exhaust sounds a bit meaner when it's cold

the fuel injectors on these trucks are pretty loud. everynow and than you will hear a clicky clack sound. even louder if you get next to a jersey barrier or guardrail

Thanks for the input. I am really hoping that this is a normal sound that I have just never noticed. just bothers me because it sometimes almost sounds like a click, or a tap.

Question, If my motor was knocking wouldn't it throw a code/check engine light?
Also if it is a leaky exhaust, does that lead to other bigger problems?
I have a feeling it is where the exhaust connects to the headers, maybe i could just tighten those bolts.
ah blasted!

I was just going to write a similar question.. I have a new 08 the the fan noise is quite loud when accelerating. Also, somtimes when I start it up in the morn it kicks into high idle, around 1300rpm's for acouple minutes.. this is in a hot climate,, LV,,90 plus degrees.
