Default My Truck sounds like the Millenium Falcon

It's quite entertaining really. When I drive Along I can hear a high pitch noise, that sounds like a bearing going out. The only question is, which bearing. I roll down my windows and I cant tell where the noise is coming from. The faster I go, the higher the pitch. I dont know how long it has been going on for, as the radio/AC drown it out, but I would like to address it in case it can become more serious.

I was thinking wheel bearings maybe? idk

While Driving along I threw it into neutral and coasted and the noise remained, so I dont think it is anything within the Transmission. Also, the noise is not present while at a stop.

I have an 01 1500, 318 4x2. Any Idears?

I have had pretty good luck with riding in the back of the truck while someone else drives, that way I can try to listen at all four corners and hear the rear end. Just my $.02.

wheel bearings or differential bearings. mine ended up going out the same time. sounded kinda like an air squeeling noise. like someone breathing in a bottle at really high speed.
