Default What is the best repair manual?

I was wondering what everyone thought was the best / most helpful repair manual for the 2nd gen dodge ram trucks?

Wanted to know before I purchased one if it was better to get a chiltons' haynes or online one?

Depends on your model. I have a 2000 so this free manual for a 2001 is the best for me. http://www.dodgeforum.com/m_340929/tm.htmOlder models may not find it as useful but hey it's free.

CHILTONS over HAYNES I say. But I guess it depends on what you want to repair. Chiltons has much better wire and vac diagrams... prolly best to just ask here and let guys talk you threw stuff.

Look on ebay for a factory manual , like thewrench says it's pretty much hit and miss with the other two.

I hate how a lot of these manuals go in circles. You look something up and it says "See page" or "section" then you get there and it says "see section" again then when you finally get to what you need it gives you a completely bull**** answer like "take to a dealer for servicing". I'd have to say the Ram manual is one of the better Haynes manuals. I bought one for my sister's civic and it's for3 completely different cars. Civic, Integra, and CR-V. Everytime I look at it I get confused. I think I've also noticed a lot of the diagrams and pictures are off. They either don't show what they're talking about or it's the wrong thing all together. You can't really be angry though because it can be helpful at times. Plus think of all the work that goes into making one of these manuals. You basically have to completely ripa truck apart and rebuild it as you take pictures.Asyou figure out just how to phrase what you're doing to someone who may have no idea what your doing and do it in a way they can easily understand.
