Default General Questions

Thanks first of all.

1) I was reading some other peoples post were the timing belt broke and now the engine is no good, so my question is.If the timing belt breaks does thatdestroy the engine and at what mileage point should I change it?

2) I wanted to re-paint my black onblack1999 Dodge Avenger ES the same color butthe color codes for thetrim is x13 andthe exterior code is x13cI cant find anything onx13c but plenty on x13. What does the c mean?

3)I got my hands on some BG44 thats says put it into a full tank of gas I'm wondering is it worth doing it or not? Could it harm my engine?

Again thanks to all

Default RE: General Questions

1)It's a zero clearance motor ... snap the belt or jump 3 teeth or more and it'll snap bend the valves/and hit the pistons I'd do 60K

2)I thought the c was the trim code meaning flex agent added

If your timing belt has broken on you, while you'll were driving at high speeds. Then you could have some bent valves. But the 1st thing to do is install a new timing belt and before putting the covers back on, try to start the engine. If it runs fine- no misfires you should be okay. If it is misfiring or no start, then do a compression test. As far as the paint, you may need to ask a paint shop.
