3715 Tuning Options
87 Octane - is a "tuning file", it does contain calibration changes...therefore we do not Recommend any Towing in this setting

Tow Performance - requires 91 or better octane, but with NO tuning. Customer can Tow up-to the Manufacturer's suggested weight limits

Performance - requires 91 or better octane w/ Tuning...NO Towing in this setting

If you have a 3815, update the tuner it will include these vehicles to the database of the tuner.

Default RE: Superchips 3815 Now supports the 98-03 3.9L, 5.2L , 5.7L and 5.9L motor

I have a couple questions. 1st, is there a difference between these "stages" of tune in a 3815 vs a 3715 tuner? 2nd, what is a the difference between the 87 octane settings and the "towing" setting if one has a tunning file and the later doesn't. I believe the old "tow" setting in a 3715 used 89 octane gas.

Thanks in advance for your response

Sure, I can pull 8,000 lbs 1100 miles...and then spent 1900 bucks on a new tranny. So go for it!
