Default Rust Problem

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem. I recently purchased a 2002 Dodge Dakota 4x4 from a Chrysler Dealer. I noticed a little rust starting inside the tailgate and under the hood on the support beam near the windshield washer container. The dealer told me that Chrysler only covers rust on exterior panels so I decided to call Daimler Chrysler and they told me the same thing. The truck only has 57,000 kms but the three year bumper to bumper is up. Is there anything I can do to get Chrysler to cover this, any warrenties that the consumers are not aware of? I find it hard to digest that a vehicle would start to rust after only three years. Especially at the price we pay for them.

Thanks

Trucker 41.
