Default suspension

i have seen that a lot of u guys are into the v-8 swap and lifted dakotas. i respect u guys for that. im thinkin about the v-8 swap myself sometime. im a lowrider guy myself. im wondering if ne one has tried this with there dakota yet? i dont wanna spend the money to buy the kit if i dont have too. just wonderin if the springs will take the heat or if u can cut them without a lot of problems?

The springs should be okay with heat, but remember to just heat them a little they will still go down after you take the torch off. I have cut coil springs on my TA. It is a PITA. Best to use a cut off saw, with coolent. But make sure after you cut both ends of the coil end up in the same exact pockets it goes into. The rear you can go with spacer blocks. $20 at autozone.

i have cut the springs on an s-10 before and it turned out pretty good. the dakota looks to be pretty close to being the same setup in the front. i wish someone on here has already tried it cause i only have 1 chance on heat and cutting is kinda aggravating. im looking to get about 6 inches of drop though. are the blocks at autozone stackable?
