Default catalyitic converter on '84 ram

Is there a cat on the '84 Ram? If so does it cause any code lights to come on if removed? Not even sure if the '84 was sophisticated enough to have code lights.

Depending on the state it's from, it may or may not. But if you take it off, it wouldn't throw a code, that didn't come along till OBDII, which your truck is about 12 years too old to have.

Thanks Comma it's a Mississippi truck and us old Rednecks probably didn't have to put up with that junk. But what I was really was worrying about is if it threw a damnded code that I would have to stare out. Didn't think it would but thought I would ask before I pulled out the old saw. Again, thank you Comma.

Can you remove the cat on 87-88 rams without a problem?

dont worry about cats and codes unless youve got a Magnum. at the ver worst, just check if youve got a sensor AFTER the cat. if not, youre all good. as for emissions i dont know.
