the GTX isn't made by dodge tis from la west
Oddly enough, it was produced by Plymouth.

Plymouth introduced the GTX in 1967 with the Plymouth Belvedere GTX and it came with the "Super Commando 440" . In 1968 they added the 383 engine as an option as well as a hard top and a convertable model. The '69 model went through a redesign and the 440's 4 barrel carbs were replaced by 3 2 barrel carbs which raised the HP to 390. In 1970 the 440 was upgraded to the 440 +6. 1971 was the last year for the Plymouth GTX.

And I made a mistake, it never did come with a V6 I was thinking Buick GSX which I believe came with a V6.

And I made a mistake, it never did come with a V6 I was thinking Buick GSX which I believe came with a V6.

The GTX was NEVER available with a 383. From '67 to '71, the last year it was a seperate model line (as identified by the VIN) the standard engine was always the 375hp 440 Super Commando. The only optional engine available from '67 to '69 was the 426 Hemi. In 1970 and '71, the 390hp 440+6, with 3-2bbl Holleys, became a third option. In '72-'74, the GTX became an option package in the Road Runner line. The 440 was the only engine available in the GTX option package. The GTX WAS available in '67 in a convertible, as well. I owned one, as well as a '69 convertible and a '71. The last GTX convertible available was in '69. '70 convertibles were Road Runners only.

Also, for the record, the Buick GSX was only available with a 455 V8. There was the standard 455, and the Stage 1 version was the only option. The GSX was available from '70- '72.

All this talk about Daytonas got me thinking. Is it true that DCX is coming out with a 2 door Daytona Charger. This was stated on AllPar's website.

I'm having a tough time understanding these Dodge performance trucks with a spoiler across the tailgate. I thought the idea of a pickup box was partly to, like, haul stuff that might just stick up above the box walls? :)

I would have to agree. I think the truck is bad ass and all, and if I had the cash I would get this, but would not want to have the spoiler. I would need it to haul my dirtbike.
