whew, what a ride
well, my 01 'trep (2.7l) just got done with some heating system issues...thought the thermostat was going, but it turns out it was a leak in the water outlet housing (you know, the funny pressure-relief valve where the upper radiator hose goes into the engine block). fixed that, but now the brakes are acting horribly! loud, grindy noises...a horrible pulsating...a sudden lurch when you stop...bleh. best i can tell is it's a warped rotor.
so, we're looking to replace the pads and rotors at this point. is it just as easy as picking up a hayne's manual from autozone, and the necessary parts, and plugging the parts in? or are there any tips or tricks y'all can let me in on? finally, i'm kinda looking at either napa's house brand for pads and rotors; autozone's duralast brand; or raybestos from advance auto. should i be looking elsewhere, or for other brands? or are the brands i've listed pretty good?
thanks!
