Default Overhead console

I am replacing my dome light with a factory console on my 05 Dakota. Does anyone know if the plastic bracket between the headliner and the roof panel is different for the console?
Part number if it is different?

it is the same, but if you dont have the harness pre-wired, its going to be a PITA...

you have to remember that these trucks are all made on an assembly line. options are added, but all trucks are prepped for them. (exception is fleet vehicles)

The wiring harness is in. It was pretty simple. On the 05 it is only 4 wires. 12V, Gnd, canB+ and canB-. I was able to pick up all 4 at the radio. Is there ant kind of trim ring between the console and the headliner?

yeah, I dont believe that there is a "trim ring"... the console should actually kind of hold the head liner up (I think)

I have only put one in a durango, My truck doesnt have the DCX overhead.

I took the headliner out. There is either a different plastic insert or the 05 and 06 are different. There is no way the console will fit into the existing plastic spacer.

Sounds odd....the parts manual shows no difference in consoles or brackets other than the module but that has nothing to do with the mounting...hmm
