Default Motor Oil

Anyone recommends using Synthetic Oil (Mobile 1) for the 5.7 Hemi engine instead of the regular motor oil? If so, what are the advantages of Synthetic? Thanks for the comments.

Default RE: Motor Oil

Steve:

Synthetic hasbetter resistance to heat as well as flowing better when its really cold out. I have run Mobil 1 in my last 2 vehicles, and do it because of our cold Ohio winters. You can also extend your oil change interval a bit once you are not under warranty any more and save siome money that way.

Remember too that if your 5.7 has the MDS, you should run the 5w20 oil. Wal-Mart has it in the 5 quart jugs for ~$23.
