Default Got 'er on the road! Ratio question.

Finally got inspected and on the road. Fun to drive, ride not bad with cut springs and flipped rear.
I do have a rear ratio question. The speedo reads WAY fast, about 30mph over. According to the OEM sticker it had a 8 3/8 3:55 rear. I think it now is much higher as it goes quite fast in low or reverse, and turns very low rpm's at speed in O/D.
I jacked up one wheel and spun it while counting drive shaft turns. 1 spin of the wheel made just under 2 turns of the shaft.
That would be something like a 1:80 rear. There is a tag ona cover bolt that reads 3150.

Problem is trying to get both wheels to spin at the same rate.
I'm just going to pull thecover and count the teeth, after I get a few other minor details tweeked. Needs the clutch adjusted, choke adjusted, the accelerater is a little stiff, a few rattles.....

With one wheel off the ground you should double the driveshaft revolutions.

i have the same rear end and i would like to know the gear ratio but have trouble geting my driveshaft to turn when both wheels off the ground. the wheels will only spin oposite to eachother ( one forward and one backwards) and cant get them both to turn the same way buy hand. yes it is in nutrual and is in 2 wheel drive.

Just jace one wheel up, rotate the wheel one revolution and count the driveshaft revolutionsx2= gear ratio. one and 1/2 turns would be 3 to 1, 1 and 3/4 turns =3.50.
