Greetings all. I am new here and this seems to be the right place to discuss the caravan issue. I am sure I am posting this in the wrong spot so please forgive that. WIfe goes out driving the 2000 Dodge Caravan and it died on her yesterday. After a huge tow bill to get it home and poking around to figure out what is wrong I was stuck. She sais that it just died when accelerating through a green light from a stop then the battery light comes on. Van will crank but not start now. Battery shows 14+ volts so I think that tells me that the altenator is charging it. Fuel pump turns on and I have lots of gas that will come out of the schrader valve. I have spark off the cable that leads to the spark plug. So I go out and pick up one of them OBD 2 scanners and I plug it in... Comes back with a code of: P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or single Sensor) Question: Where is this gadget for me to check it out and how do I fix this problem? Is this a comon to go bad and how to fix? Would this lead to the vehicle to stop running? Thanks in advance
